An accessible, in-depth training in mindfulness

Are you interested in mindfulness and its potential for enhancing health and well-being? Are you under stress? Are you struggling with chronic conditions such as chronic pain, depression, and anxiety? Are you feeling as if life is too much? Or do you simply want to live a fuller life with greater balance?

Join us for an accessible, in-depth training in mindfulness. A great way to get started with mindfulness training. Our 6-week Taking the Path of Mindfulness class offers the essential learnings and practices of our longer and more intensive courses in a shorter time frame.

Research over the last ten years has shown mindfulness training to reduce chronic pain and boost the immune system; to address painful mental states like anxiety and depression; to promote well-being and reduce emotional reactivity; to increase attention and focus; and to enlarge the brain in the areas of decision-making, flexibility and empathy.

Course details: Our multi-week courses in mindfulness promote stress reduction, health, self-awareness and well-being. This highly participatory, practical course includes:
  • Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices
  • Gentle stretching and mindful yoga
  • Inquiry exercises to enhance awareness in everyday life
  • Group dialogue and small group exercises
  • Daily home assignments
  • Guided audio files for home practice
  • A workbook with short readings, a guide to the course, and resources to support your ongoing investigation of mindfulness

This course is derived from the well-researched, 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course designed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and the Center for Mindfulness at the UMass Medical Center.

6 classroom sessions: Thursday Evenings, 6pm - 8:30pm, October 12th to November 16th.

Cost and Options:
$200-$300 regular sliding scale (paying on the higher end makes the lower end possible, our usual built-in "scholarship" system). 

The fee includes all 6 meetings and instructional materials (course manual and home practice CDs).

Payment plans are available during registration (4 equal monthly payments; no financing fee).
