Start the year off with mindfulness practices taught by Tim Burnett
Join local mindfulness practitioner Tim Burnett, Guiding Teacher and Executive Director of Mindfulness Northwest, for an exploration of mindfulness practices that promote awareness and well-being. We'll discuss the origins of mindfulness, touch on stress physiology, and explore how mindfulness practices can help us engage in our relationship to experience (such as the holiday season!), reducing stress and enhancing well-being. Simple practices of breathing and mindful movement will support our discussion as we explore mindfulness from the inside out.
Mindfulness teacher Tim Burnett has been practicing meditation for 30 years. He is knowledgeable about mindfulness from its traditional Buddhist origins and into its contemporary applications in medicine and psychology. Tim is authorized to offer Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT). In 2011, Tim founded the local non-profit Mindfulness Northwest which offers classes, workshops and retreats in mindfulness and compassion in Whatcom, King, Skagit, and Snohomish Counties, including Bellingham, Seattle, Kirkland, and Everett. Tim is also a fully authorized teacher of Soto Zen Buddhism.
