An Evening of Mindfulness Explorationwith Tim Burnett
Join mindfulness practitioner Tim Burnett, Guiding Teacher and Executive Director of Mindfulness Northwest, for a hands-on exploration of mindfulness practice. We'll discuss the origins of mindfulness in contemporary science and ancient Buddhism, touch on stress physiology, and explore how mindfulness practices can help us engage in our relationship to experience, reducing stress and enhancing well-being. Simple practices of breathing and mindful movement will support our discussion as we explore mindfulness from the inside out.
Mindfulness teacher Tim Burnett has been practicing meditation for 30 years. He is knowledgeable about mindfulness from its traditional Buddhist origins and into its contemporary applications in medicine and psychology. Tim is authorized to offer Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT). In 2011, Tim founded the local non-profit Mindfulness Northwest which offers classes, workshops and retreats in mindfulness and compassion from Bellingham to Tacoma and the Kitsap Peninsula. Tim is also a fully authorized teacher of Soto Zen Buddhism.
