Loving-kindness stengthens the natural human desire that you and others be well. A core part of our Mindful Self-Compassion program as well as other compassion cultivation programs, loving-kindness meditation uses a combination of imagery and language to open the heart. The imagery involves bringing to mind people we're in relationship to, and the language brings up phrases that channel good wishes. While most loving-kindness practices use "standard" loving-kindness phrases, you can also write your own through a meditative process used in Mindful Self-Compassion - you can practice that here.
