Meeting Grief

In person in Bow

3-hour workshop

Grief is all of the feelings surrounding any change or loss

So much can bring up grief: the death of a loved one, physical pain or illness, the challenges of aging, the climate crisis, or simply reading the news. A child grows up and moves away, a job or friendship ends, we can’t do the things we used to do. Even a positive change like moving or retirement can include a thread of grief.

All of us experience grief. You may not have anything “big” up at the moment, or even be feeling particularly sad — but you are human! We all feel grief. That’s enough. Everyone is welcome.

In this workshop we’ll use the tools of mindfulness and self-compassion to meet our grief. We’ll explore the ways present moment awareness can help, and discover how to bring in fierce and tender self-compassion.

An experienced teacher, warm community, and the beauty of nature offer support. You’ll come away with simple, accessible tools to work with grief and loss.

Note: if you are fresh off a significant or devastating loss, or deep in unprocessed grief, this workshop may not be a good match. Please check with us to see if the time is right for you.

Carolyn is an excellent teacher. She always empowered me to also be my own teacher and modify practices as needed. Her warm presence, wise teachings, and encouraging energy made me feel supported, and I got so much out of the experience thanks to her guidance.
