Eligibility for our Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR-TT) Program
Please note that MBSR-TT is is an "advanced training" in that it's designed for those who have already done significant training in meditation, yoga, or related contemplative disciplines. For those newer to this work we recommend first taking our Mindfulness Teacher Training Program (MTTP) or other trainings in the study, delivery, and teaching of contemplative practice (e.g. yoga teacher training, introductory mindfulness teacher training with other institutes, etc.).
Clarity in Understanding What MBSR is:
It's essential to understand that Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a specific 8-week mindfulness course, created originally by Jon Kabat-Zinn in the 1970's and further refined by many teachers at the Center for Mindfulness at U Mass, and by other institutions such as the Center for Mindfulness at UCSD and Mindfulness Northwest. MBSR is not a general term for teaching mindfulness or for other mindfulness classes. Our Mindfulness Teacher Training Program (MTTP) which is designed to give you a foundational understanding of mindfulness training and how to implement it in a variety of settings. It is both a pathway towards MBSR-TT and a complete training in it's own right if you wish to offer mindfulness training in formats other than MBSR.
