Some seasons ask more of us than we expected. A relationship ends, a loved one dies, health shifts, a move or job change rearranges life, or we find ourselves grieving something we can’t quite name. In times of transition and loss, it’s common to feel untethered and just as common to turn inward with self-judgment, pressure to “handle it better,” or the sense that we’re the only one struggling.
This gentle, online workshop offers a different way to meet your experience: with kindness and steadiness. Grounded in the evidence-based practices of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), you’ll learn simple tools to support your nervous system, soften harsh inner talk, and bring a caring presence to what’s hard, without forcing positivity or rushing your process.
No meditation experience is needed, and you don’t need to have the “right words.” You’re welcome exactly as you are. We gather in community because transition and loss can feel isolating and practicing together helps us remember: you’re human, and you’re not alone. Space is limited to 25 participants to keep the atmosphere personal, warm, and well-supported. You’ll leave with practical, supportive practices you can return to again and again, steady companions for meeting difficult moments with more kindness, clarity, and ease.
GENTLE FAQs
Do I have to share personal details?
No. Sharing is always optional. You’re welcome to simply listen and participate in the practices.
Is this group therapy?
No. This is a skills-based workshop grounded in Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC). While it may feel meaningful and personal, the focus is on learning practices and tools you can use in everyday life.
What if I get emotional?
Emotions are welcome here. Many people feel tender when exploring loss or transition. You’re always free to step out, get water, or take a quiet moment whatever supports you.
What kinds of loss or transition is this for?
Any season of change: grief after a death, divorce or breakup, caregiving, illness, moving, retirement, shifting identity, estrangement, or the quieter losses that are harder to name.
I’m new to meditation—will I be able to do this?
Yes. The practices are guided and simple, with plenty of choice. You don’t need any prior experience.
What should I bring?
Just yourself. If you’d like, have a journal close by and perhaps a water bottle. Since you’ll be in the comfort of your own home, you’ll be able to get anything else you need.
Can I attend if I’m in the middle of something very raw?
Often, yes; this can be supportive. If you’re currently in crisis or worried about your safety, this workshop may not be the right level of support; we encourage you to reach out to a licensed mental health professional or local crisis resources.
